Frequently Asked Questions |
Am I a good candidate for laser hair removal? Best candidates have light skin and dark hair. Our laser, the Candela GentleLaseAlexandrite laser is safest and most effective on the lighter skin types. Darker skin types should seek treatment with a Candela GentleYag laser for their safety and best results. How many treatments will I need? Nobody can look and you and tell you how many treatments you will need. That is one of the reasons we do not offer packages. From our more than 9 years of doing laser hair removal we can tell you that you can expect to need between 4 to 8 treatments for best results. How frequently should I come for treatments? The easiest answer is: when the hair comes back, you come back. Laser works by heating the hair itself so if you come back too soon, you are cheating yourself of an effective treatment. In general it will be 6 weeks for face/neck areas, 8 weeks for underarms, bikini and arms, and 12 weeks for torso and legs. How much will it cost? We proudly list all of our prices right here on our website. We do not offer packages or have specials. We learned by experience that if you come in today for a treatment and find out next week that we are now offering that same area at a discount, you end up not happy. We prefer happy people coming through our doors so we do our best to offer the best prices all the time in the area. Why can't you treat darker skin types? Laser hair removal works by heating melanin (the pigment that gives your hair and skin its' color). The wavelength of laser that we have heats up melanin better than any other wavelength currently on the market. For that reason, if your skin has enough melanin in it to make your skin dark, our laser could too likely damage your skin. Darker skin types should always seek laser hair removal treatments with a yag laser. You can click here to see results of dark skin treated with the wrong wavelength. |
